BaseHost have recently made a change to the way updates and maintenance activities are handled for all of our Managed WordPress services.

Previously, updates were conducted silently on a daily basis for any and all updates that were required on the websites we manage. We found that whilst this was helpful for clients some feedback provided to us that it was possible too frequent and as a result we've made the following changes:

  1. The regular maintenance updates will be triggered and occur on the monthly renewal date of the managed service
  2. All required updates will take place at that time using the same process we take currently (i.e. backup the website, make the changes, check the site thoroughly and deal with any errors or restore from backup if required)
  3. Any security-related updates that are required based on security advisories will still take place as the security advisories are received
  4. All scheduled maintenance work will be documented in a ticket in your account to give you a full and transparent breakdown of time and work undertaken to complete the updates on your website.

We believe this approach will be less disruptive and equally effective in managing the updates on your websites. This change does not impact any clients that are requesting changes on their site which are covered by a managed service - these can still be requested at any time and will be completed within the stated SLA's for your package.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this change, please don't hesitate to raise a ticket to us in the client portal or you can email us at support@basehost.com.au
